my favorite spots in england
in london, bath and beyond
I normally do my what I did, what I wore posts after a trip but I did so much less than I planned during this recent stay in London. I usually have a loose itinerary of sorts, hitting spots I’ve saved by area. But this time, with baby in tow and having concrete plans like a Seen Library event and lunch dates with friends, it left little room for exploring.
Much of our time in England was also spent up north in the countryside visiting family, with it being our baby’s first time across the pond. We had some sort of outing each day, but our days were mostly filled with quiet family time — eating in and playing and reading in the garden.
So instead of sharing a run through of what I did each day on this most recent trip, I’m going to share favorite spots of the areas of England I’ve been to, in the case you find yourself going to London and beyond.
London
Oakley Court (an hour from London)
Kettle’s Yard (an hour from London)
BAO (any location)
Dishoom (obviously)
Realisation Par (and Mount Street in general for shopping)

Margate
Cotswolds
Somerset / Bath
Yorkshire
In case you missed it:
what i did, what i wore: england
There were so many things I wanted to write before the year ended. My favorite books of 2023. More thoughts on real community and what that looks like offline. What I learned this year and what I hope for the next. A round-up of the most worn pieces in my closet
some of you asked: london recommendations
I recently took to Instagram stories to crowdsource cool spots to visit in London and many of you wanted me to share what recommendations came through. See below for a non-exhaustive list of places to go and things to see (those bolded were highly recommended and those with * are places I’ve been and loved) in my favorite city in the world and stay tune…
what i did and what i wore: scotland
I’ll be honest, Scotland wasn’t my first choice when planning my months-long trip abroad. The first time I went, I did a day trip from Edinburgh seven or eight years ago with my now husband when I was visiting him and his family in England - and I kind of hated it. Coming from LA, I really didn’t know how to pack for
my favorite spots in los angeles
One of the questions I get asked most in my DMs is where to go in Los Angeles, especially from out of towners. I usually rattle off a few favorite spots and then tell myself that soon, I’ll just compile a list that I can easily share with anyone who asks. Today is finally that day. I figured it may be helpful for those in town visiting or those who are …
what i did, what i wore: milan
It had been over 10 years since I visited Milan. I had gone with a couple of friends back in 2014 when we decided to take an impromptu trip to Italy after I left my first job. We started in Milan, made our way down to Cinque Terre, Pisa and Florence and ended our road trip in Rome.

Saving this for next time I go! I miss England deep in my soul
