in my closet: those viral miu miu glasses, the necklace that elevates every outfit and new favorite trousers
07: new pieces I haven't stopped wearing - and haven't stopped getting compliments on
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve noticed that I reach for the same items over and over. Maybe I lean into pieces I actually like and feel my best in, maybe I’ve gotten sick of keeping up with the newest trends, maybe I want to spend less time standing in front of my closet wondering what to wear — maybe it’s all of the above. In this series, I share the items I constantly rewear… including a few recent pieces I’ve been getting a ton of compliments on.
Remember, purchase only what you think you’ll get a lot of wear from. If you already have a white tank you love, don’t order another. If you have a go-to bag that goes with everything, keep it that way. And if you are thinking about buying any of the below, take a few days to before adding to cart. I personally keep a Google sheet where I add items I want with the link and price and wait at least 48 hours to see if I still want it. Most of the time, I forget about it.
Below, you’ll find items that strangers and friends alike have been asking me about, which includes the Miu Miu glasses that are sold out everywhere, the necklace that elevates nearly outfit, my new favorite trousers and a vintage designer bag I can’t stop wearing.
Miu Miu Prescription Glasses: I first fell in love with these glasses while I was on set shooting for Emi Jay (worn here with these sterling silver puffy hoop earrings). The stylist had pulled them for the model, but I tried them on and everyone on set insisted I needed them. After a few days of thinking about them, I decided to pull the trigger. I ordered two — the ones the stylist had from FWRD which were more round and oval and the ones from Lenscrafters, as I can order those with an actual prescription. After some back and forth, I opted for the ones from Lenscrafters. They had a slightly less oval shape and were a bit more narrow rather than round and I liked them more because they felt less like a costume. The ones from FWRD were super cute and I’ve seen a lot of influencers wear them, but I felt a bit too Harry Potter. I wanted ones that I was more comfortable in, knowing I’d be wearing them day in and day out. They were pretty pricey, but I’m so glad I splurged on them because it’s allowed me to feel better wearing glasses out when I would otherwise put contacts in.
